Introduction – Lord Vishwakarma, the “Creator of the World,” is honoured on Vishwakarma Jayanti, also known as Vishwakarma Puja. According to Hindu belief, he was the one who built the golden city of Dwarka during Lord Krishna’s reign. Apart from Dwarka, he also created the Pandavas’ palace of Indraprastha and was the designer of numerous miraculous weapons and flying chariots.
On this day, devotees pray and honour Lord Vishwakarma by placing an idol or a portrait of him in their factory, firm, shop, or workplace. Vishwakarma Puja practitioners refrain from using tools. They worship their machines and tools. They also pray to Lord Vishwakarma for a brighter future and prosperity in their chosen professions.
