Three Major Ports Designated as Green Hydrogen Hubs Under National Green Hydrogen Mission
The Indian government has designated Deendayal Port in Gujarat, V.O. Chidambaranar Port in Tamil Nadu, and Paradip Port in Odisha as Green Hydrogen Hubs under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The move positions these ports as key centers for the production, storage, and distribution of green hydrogen and its derivatives. It marks an important step in aligning India’s port infrastructure with its clean energy ambitions and advancing the transition toward net-zero emissions by 2070. By integrating renewable energy and maritime logistics, the initiative aims to place India at the forefront of the emerging global hydrogen economy.

Centre Proposes Transport Planning Authority under PMO to Streamline Infrastructure Projects
India plans to establish a central Transport Planning Authority under the Prime Minister’s Office to coordinate infrastructure development across aviation, rail, highways, shipping, and urban transport. The body will streamline planning, reduce overlaps, and improve inter-ministerial coordination. Modeled on agencies like London’s TfL and Seoul’s Transport Commission, it aims to create a more integrated approach to national mobility. Cabinet approval is expected within the next few months.

India Maritime Week 2025 to Reveal India’s Global Maritime Leadership Roadmap
India will unveil a comprehensive maritime roadmap at India Maritime Week 2025(October 27–31, Mumbai), outlining strategies to strengthen its position as a global maritime power. Led by Union Ports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the plan will cover shipping, port infrastructure, and ocean governance in line with India’s Vision for 2047. The event will bring together delegations from seven partner nations, over 100,000 delegates, and 500 exhibitors. An Ambassadors’ Roundtable held in advance highlighted India’s focus on green corridors, innovation, and global collaboration.

Mumbai One App Launches: One QR Ticket for Metro, Train, Bus, Monorail & Taxi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mumbai One mobility app, which lets commuters use a single QR-based ticket across metro, suburban trains, buses, monorail, and taxis. By linking 11 public transport operators in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the app makes daily travel simpler and more seamless. Within the first day, it recorded over 35,000 downloads, despite some early glitches. The launch reflects India’s push for digital, integrated solutions in urban mobility and commuter convenience.

L&T Secures ₹15,000 Cr+ Contract for Natural Gas Liquids Plant in Middle East
Engineering giant Larsen & Toubro has won a ₹15,000 crore contract to build a Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) processing plant in the Middle East. The project will include amine and dehydration units, condensate stabilisation systems, and pipelines, and will be executed by L&T’s Hydrocarbon Engineering business in a joint venture with an international partner. Awarded under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) model, the three-year project is expected to strengthen L&T’s reputation in global energy infrastructure.
