National Road Safety Month

Date: 1st January - 31st January 2025

Location: Mumbai

Theme: Safety First - Every Journey Matters

National Road Safety Month is an annual initiative aimed at raising awareness about road safety and promoting responsible driving practices to reduce accidents and fatalities. The month-long campaign involves government agencies, private organizations, and communities working together to educate the public on traffic rules, vehicle safety measures, and pedestrian awareness. Various awareness programs, including seminars, workshops, and public outreach events, are conducted to emphasize the importance of following traffic regulations and adopting safe driving habits. The theme for this year, “Safety First – Every Journey Matters,” underscores the need for prioritizing safety in all aspects of travel, whether for work or personal commuting. The initiative aligns with national efforts to enhance road infrastructure, enforce stricter traffic laws, and encourage behavioural changes among road users for a safer transportation environment.

As part of National Road Safety Month, Eka Infra actively engaged in spreading awareness through various interactive activities, including a Toolbox Talk, Road Safety Presentation, and a Treasure Hunt Game that created awareness in road safety. The Toolbox Talk conducted educated employees and stakeholders on workplace road safety practices, emphasizing hazard identification and risk mitigation. The Road safety presentation highlighted common road user behaviour, Past accidents data in India, common cause of accidents as per statistical data and Road safety signs creating awareness among the staff.

To make learning more engaging, Eka Infra organized a Treasure Hunt Game within the office premises, where teams had to navigate through various stations, solve clues, and complete tasks, all while learning important road safety tips. Each station featured a clue or task related to road safety that the teams had to complete before moving to the next station. The first team to successfully complete all stations and tasks was declared the winner. The game concluded with a brief session on road safety tips and the importance of adhering to traffic rules. This interactive activity not only reinforced essential road safety principles in a fun and engaging way but also fostered teamwork and collaboration among employees, ensuring that “Safety First – Every Journey Matters” remains a guiding principle in their daily lives.
